A recent post on Branding Unbound says that Hawaii’s 2007 Ironman will utilize mobile content and marketing. This will allow triathlon fans and other interested parties to keep up with event through their mobile phones. For example, cellphone users can get automatic text message updates when specified participants reach checkpoints on the race.
It is always amazing to see how technology affects our world, even mostly non-technological things like triathlon races. I can not imagine what it will be like in 10 or 20 years.
Here is a tip: You can find triathlon training partners on craigslist. If you do not already know, craigslist is a major website that allows you to post local classified ads for free. You can generally find any kind of training partner, be it a running buddy, a cycling group, or whatever. Good luck!
One road in Harlow requires cyclists to dismount seven times within 380 yards. What were they thinking when they put all those signs up?
I just read an interesting blog post about a mother-of-three who qualified for a world triathlon after doing her first triathlon in June. Congratulations to her!
While at the grocery store yesterday, I was reminded of the low price of pasta. A 16oz box of pasta costs less than a dollar, if I buy the store brand, and a jar of sauce costs another dollar. For about 2 bucks, I can make a big pot of pasta that has nearly 2,000 calories in it. It reheats well.
Though the pasta is especially high in carbs, it also has a noteworthy amount of protein. The carbs are great for fueling triathlon training.

I am still deciding about swimming in the mornings. I would have to swim before going to community service. It will be hard to wake up so early in the morning, and it will tire me out for community service. However, swimming is the best triathlon training I can get in the winter. It will be too cold for me to rely on running or biking.
I had my community service today. I find that the main trouble with it isn’t the time it takes up, but that it makes me tired for the rest of the day. After getting up early and spending about 7 hours on my feet performing manual labor, I just do not have any energy to exercise and train for a triathlon and such. Luckily, I’m only doing the community service twice per week.
I think the indoor pools in my town opened tomorrow, but I won’t go. I didn’t get my pool pass yet, and I have community service to do. I’m going to be doing community service about twice a week. Luckily, I get some exercise doing the community service. It’s not as intense as most triathlon training, but it’s better than just sitting around doing nothing.
