I had my community service today. I find that the main trouble with it isn’t the time it takes up, but that it makes me tired for the rest of the day. After getting up early and spending about 7 hours on my feet performing manual labor, I just do not have any energy to exercise and train for a triathlon and such. Luckily, I’m only doing the community service twice per week.
I think the indoor pools in my town opened tomorrow, but I won’t go. I didn’t get my pool pass yet, and I have community service to do. I’m going to be doing community service about twice a week. Luckily, I get some exercise doing the community service. It’s not as intense as most triathlon training, but it’s better than just sitting around doing nothing.
It’s funny, because I’ve been posting about preparing for the coldness of the upcoming winter. Well, the last few days have been nearly unbearable in terms of heat and humidity. It makes me feel tired, and makes it hard to do work and exercise. Luckily, I do my running at night when it cools down some.
I felt cold running last night, for the first time in a while. I run at night during the hot summer to avoid the heat. Now maybe I will start running a little earlier to avoid the cool nights. I just don’t want to think about the upcoming winter. I don’t like the feeling of running in the cold, where parts of my body feel hot and sweaty while other parts feel cold and numb.
During the winter, I do a lot more swimming to avoid running as much. By swimming indoors, I avoid the weather.

It takes a lot of hard work to be a triathlete. Why do you do it? Please tell me at the Triathlon Forums. It’s completely free.
I want to make this into a great website for triathletes of all kinds. You know what you want better than anyone else. Please suggest ways to improve this website. Tell us what features you would like to see on this website. You can post your suggestions in my Triathlon Forums at the following URL:

I do all my running at night, because it is too hot during the day. I hope to get out cycling more during the day. I want to think of somewhere to which I can cycle, because I would prefer doing that to cycling around aimlessly. Do you cycle anywhere, or just go around in a loop? Tell me at the Triathlon Forums.
I hope to do some races for charity and such this summer as well as future seasons. You have probably heard about various marathons for various causes. Most probably involve only running, rather than an entire triathlon. However, triathletes have more endurance than most. Consider using that endurance to participate in some of these races that raise money and awareness about certain causes, such as poverty and illnesses.
If you have participated in any such races, or if you know of any coming up, please tell us in the Triathlon Forums.
I found a local park that has an outdoor pool and has tennis courts. The pool hasn’t opened for the season yet, but it probably will soon. I’ll likely need a new pool pass from the town, but I can probably get one cheap. In addition to my triathlon training, I can get some good exercise by playing tennis.
