Today finished off my first week of full training since my knee injury 6 weeks ago. I've been capable to swim and run (short distances) since the injury, but wasn't able to put together a full week of swimming, biking and running. So after my run this morning, it seems as if everything is back to standard. I felt a little low on the run, but that could be due to the massive hills that I was climbing (see elevation chart below).

Hi, I have tried juiceplus (dietary supplement) for two years - without any effect! It costs me 70 dollar each month...

Have YOU tried juiceplus? Any experiences?

I am training for my first sprint 500= Swim 15m bike and 3.3mi run after reading all of the advice for begginers I think I have a game plan.# 1 enjoy. My question is this I am reading alot about bringing tires and tubes and the bike I have does not have quick disconnects (old Road bike)is it the wrong additude to have to say If I get a flat oh well thats it.Its a fast race so is there even time to worry about a flat.Do you get DQ if it takes too long to fix the tire?

Imagine yourself competing in the jungle and finishing in front of the historic Maya temples!
The Gran Jaguar Triathlon will be held in Tikal, Guatemala on May 2nd 2009, 2km swim, 90km bike and 21km run.

$10000 in prizes..
For more information write to Rodolfo Quiñones at rodolfo@bicimaniaguate.com, he is one of the organizers.

Here is my input on the 2008 race, this past Nov 29.

You must do this race next year.. it's gonna be awesome!!! The event was planned carefully and the people involved carried it out perfect... I really recomend it!!

The swim: Lake Peten Itza is a mirror like portion of water surrounded by a really cool scenery. The water was perfect!!! Super calm, nice temperature.. I really enjoyed swiming there.. man... you should see the views!! Incredible sunrises/sunsets.

The bike: The road from the island of Flores to Tikal is really good, no major issues there.. flat portions, then ups and downs.. and the big climb "El Caoba".. that's a challenge.. but it gives the race a degree of difficulty that makes it a real challenge.

The run: After you leave your bike in T2 at Tikal's parking lot, you start running into the park, going through the jungle, hearing all the birds and endless types of species that live there.. it is reaally cool! then you go through the ruins and man.. what a view.. all those temples... and you get a sensation of acomplishment just passing by through all that history....

The finish line place in "La Plaza Mayor" where the most representative of the temples are.. tooooo coooool!!!!

This is a great opportunity for anyone who wants to travel and see the beauty of one of the ancient cultures of the American Continent.. added to a perfectly planned race!!

Hope this helps!

Started training 14 months ago and have lost 90+ pounds and am in the best shape of my life. I've done 12 events so far completing my first Olympic distance last June. I'm going to do a half iron this year and we'll see from there.

This thread is a little old but for those looking to join a club check out the usat (usatriathlon) site. For the first year of my training I trained alone but now am a member of a club. I find working out with and sharing ideas from others is a big boost and helps keep me motivated.

                                      Heyo everyone,

My name is Mike and I am fairly new to the sport. I participated in a sprint distance when I was 15 and won my age group (18-under)! I recently graduated college and was looking to do something to take up all the hours I was doing hw before. I love the sport, and because of the luck I've had with contact sports over the past few years (torn acl, broken wrist, dislocated shoulder) I have decided to return to tri's. I joined a group (bay state tri team) who I am excited to be training with. I am looking to do several sprint distances during the 2009 season, and the pan-mass challenge. Within the next few years I am hoping to compete in IronMan distances, and become a very successful competitor. I am looking forward to discussing this great sport with all of you!

Maybe if the gym had the resources of both a normal gym and the gym you were talking about, with price differences for people looking to just go to the gym, and those looking to access all the tri training resources. I think you would be able to get a larger market if you opened up the gym this way.
